How to DIY ornaments this holiday season!

If you think about how close the holidays are it’s time to begin a to do list. I have found when decorating my home, tree, or any room I like to put together a color theme. A friend told me of a wonderful DIY project for making nail polish ornaments. This is perfect for anyone who has a color theme in mind, and it’s very easy. Here are steps on how to DIY ornaments!

1.  You’ll need to purchase clear, glass ball ornaments. These can easily be found at any craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

2.  Remove the hanging hardware from the clear glass ball ornament. Pour in nail polish and swirl around. I’m going to add two colors in one clear glass ornament this year. For nail polish I go through the clearance bin at Big Lots. I have picked up nail polish as low as $.75 per bottle. Pretty much any place that sells nail polish will usually have a clearance section.

3.  Let dry a few minutes, then add another color if desired or color and sparkle nail polish combined. It looks very cool! Drain any excess nail polish back into the bottle.

4.  Set the ball upside down over a paper cup to dry, then replace the hardware.
