1. First off, buy a spray gel. Herbal Essences has a one called “Tousle me Softly,” and only runs about $2.99 for the bottle at drugstores. Spritz about 5 sprays onto the top layers of dry strands.
2. Next you need a round brush. Use it to wrap about a medium size piece of hair around it and hold it about an inch away from your scalp. Blow dry that section for about 10 seconds and blow roots forward. This will help give extra “oomph.” The air will also help dry extra sweat on the scalp.
3. Leave your hair wrapped around the brush until it cools. Use your fingers to unwind the hair from the brush rather than pulling it through. This way you don’t run the risk of flattening it by pulling it through the bristles. Repeat steps 2 and 3 on any other damp or flat pieces of hair.
4. Last but not least, add some bounce to your hair by holding the blow dryer about 6 inches away from the ends and flick your wrist as you blow dry it. Then tousle your hair with your fingers to add more volume and to get your hair in place.
