Have you ever wondered why on a can of hairspray it says “spray 10 to 12 inches away from hair?” Yep I was curious as well. Why? I was told by my stylist Todd Ahlf that doing so, you will end up with just butane. Butane is used as a propellant which helps the hairspray out of the can. It will go directly on your hair, and you will not get the full benefit of the hair spray itself. Results will have your style not holding up to par. Now I realize why my hair style wouldn’t last after I had sprayed so close to my hair. It sure works spraying 10 to 12 inches away. Now I get the full benefit of my hairspray and my style is lasting much longer then before. Another trick: do you ever have those fly away hairs or static after spraying hairspray? After spraying your hair, take your hairspray can and gently roll your hairspray can onto your hair. Start at the top of your crown and roll down. Presto! No more static or fly away’s. Give it a try! I love it!
