Can wine really improve our health and increase longevity? You bet it can. I love red wine and I do have a glass every night. In this day and age we are all trying to eat and drink healthy.
Researchers have found that red wines are best known for their antioxidant qualities and help the body resist allergens, viruses and carcinogens. This is a known fact. What are Antioxidants you might wonder? They protect healthy cells from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals, what are they? Not good. They harbor toxins, pesticides, cancer, the list is endless.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Syrah and Pinot Noir contain the highest concentrations of antioxidants. This makes me happy since pinot noir and cabs are my favorite!
So, the best bet for drinking red wine for your health is to stick to the dark and dryer red wines. Just because wine contains components that are essential to good health, go easy, one doesn’t want to get plastered every night. Doing that helps you in no way at all. A glass of wine with dinner, go ahead and uncork your favorite bottle of red wine. CHEERS!
